I have often struggled when it comes to drawing ladies or girls for some reason. I hope these ladies look like ladies.

Hello Sir.

Here are some recent designs for greeting cards.
Hopefully they will be going off to the printers very soon....
After that they will be sitting in some lovely little shops!

I have enjoyed working in pencil recently. I think it's because of my nice Muji wooden pencil.

I've been cutting ad sticking and making these collages of the buildings in Amsterdam.
I love it there. The houses are all miss-matched and squashed together. They have great roofs too.

Cloud people.

Lately I've been mostly making some stuffed little cloud people. I can't decide weather to put them in a frame or make a mobile. I'll probably make some more and do both. I like sewing. I find it rather relaxing.

The train journey I made from China to Vietnam is one I shall never forget.

Many exciting things...and some things I have learnt.

1.    It was freezing today. I wore a lot of my clothes all at once and looked rather silly. It's made me realise how much I miss camping on the beach, strolling along the sand and swimming in the sea.....even in England!
2.     I would love to own this car. Mine is old and will break soon I think. It is green though.

I gave been busy drawing and painting some card designs to be printed this week! I'm rather excited about this and have been looking for more shops that would like to sell my work.

When I went traveling around South East Asia, I saw how the people work for so many hours every single day. I finish work at 3.30pm....making me realise I have PLENTY of time to be getting on with illustration work. Just thought I'd let you know.

So, I shall post some pictures of my cards on here when they have been printed. Exciting!

Rather excited.

Today I visited the lovely Mana Tree shop in Hull with two bags full of things that I have been making recently. They kindly agreed to sell my work in their shop, and seemed rather excited about it. This made me feel rather excited too.

After munching down some pasta I got on with making some labels for my cards and birds and things. I haven't used my type writer in ages. I do like it a lot. I know it takes longer than a computer, but there is something wonderful about the finished result. Plus it makes me feel like a secretary from the olden days. can now purchase some of my collages, cards, birds, drawings and weird creatures from

The Mana Tree

Newland Avenue in sunny Hull.

I'm becoming slightly obsessed with the shapes of buildings.

(so don't be surprised if a fair few pop up on here).

This picture was taken by me in the South of France recently.

Drawing buildings was something I struggled with during my degree. I was a little scared of them. I'm not sure why really. We went to a drawing trip to Porto at the very beginning of the second year in our course. It's a brilliant city, if a little odd. my sketchbooks were full of all the people, sometimes strange (although I probably just picked out the strange ones), that inhabited Porto.

I think if I returned there now, my sketches would look a lot different.

There's something rather nosy about buildings.....houses in particular. Don't you just want to climb up there and see who's sitting in that roof garden?
